Property in Pizzo was set up by Calabrian Services of Pizzo with the aim to simplify the purchasing of property in Pizzo.
When you have bought your property here in Calabria you will have certain obligations to fulfill as you would in your own country. These are such items as taxes, insurances, water, waste registration etc.
Below are a few notes on the process and reasons and explanations for these processes.
How and why:
Registration for ICI (property tax) must be done once you have bought your property. This can be done either by a qualified commersalista or yourself at the local comune. The ICI tax is similar to rates and in Italy you must make 2 declarations every year for this. The costs depend on your property value as seen by the local council and an example for a property bought for 100,000 Euros would be approx 120,00 Euros per year.
Registration for water rates is much the same process and costs depend on water usage but as an average in Calabria you pay 0.80 cents per M3
Registration for waste is billed at approx 1,00 Euros per M2 of your property.
Gas can either be bottle or city mains, this varies again depending on location and type of contract.
Electric can be set up at the local electric office, by phone or again by using a specialist.
